This Weekend
One of the things that I so love about Eagan is all of their festivals. That couldn’t be more true this year, with all of their fantastic events centering around their 150th birthday (which we are official Partners of). However, the event I have most been looking forward to would have to be the one this coming Sunday the vintage baseball game (and jazz concert)! more
Own a Piece of History
Here’s your chance to own a beautiful piece of Minnesota History, the T.B. Sheldon House in Red Wing is for sale! Okay, so maybe it’s a wee bit out of my price range, but a gal can dream! Theodore B. Sheldon was an early influential business man in Goodhue County, upon his death in 1904 he donated money to the City of Red Wing to be used for the public benefit, the City decided that a theater would be built in his name, the T.B. Sheldon Memorial Theater is still in use today. more

It’s Eagan, MN 150th birthday! The city is commemorating this momentous occasion with a fabulous website filled with all kind of interesting historical tidbits, as well as a community effort to collect 150,000 pounds of food to mark the past 150 years, but ALSO 150,000 additional pounds dedicated to the next! Developing Pilot Knob: A History of Controversy.
In the Winter 2010 edition of the Minnesota Archaeological Society newsletter there was notice from Gail Lewellan, chair of the Pilot Knob Preservation Association board: Pilot Knob Update “The City of Mendota Heights is nearing completion of its Comprehensive Plan for the next 20 years. While the 25 acres of Pilot Knob that has been purchased already is zoned ‘Open Space’ in the draft, the part owned by the City of MH (Mendota Heights) and south of Acacia Blvd is slated to be zoned ‘Industrial’, to be used like the part further south, presumably. Photography is one of those things that gets me all excited. Then and Now books at the book store always catch my attention.
