Family Resemblance
This post is a little on the personal side for what we usually talk about here, but I just had to share! My husband and I were looking into some of his family history, and there are some very interesting stories in his past (including a princess of Portugal and a daughter of someone from the Knights Templar!) my favorite stories are always the ones that are easily relatable. My husband’s paternal lineage in America is fairly recent compared to many, his family came over in the 1850s when four brother’s traveled to Iowa to build a life for themselves. When they got to Iowa they became well known merchants and entrepreneurs, who were very respected within the community.
The brothers were so deeply rooted in the community that there is an incredible wealth of information surrounding their lives and their businesses, including their wives and children. But here is a little something I found very interesting:

Personally, I think they could be the same person, obviously my husband is the dashing fella on the left, but his uncle P. (his Great Great Great Uncle, specifically) looks like an older version of him (you should see the resemblance now that my husband’s goatee has grown in!). Right down to their unique noses, and their ears, I just can’t get over it!
I love when you can find little gems like this. What an amazing thing to have!
P. was one of the four brothers who came over from Switzerland in the 1850s , he married a sweet little Midwestern girl and they had six beautiful children.
Do you have any remarkable family resemblances in your history?

I wish I would have had a better picture to show the similarities!
