The Clark Mystery
Recently msnbc.com has been posting a really interesting series of stories about the heiress, Huguette Clark, of a fortune made by a copper baron in the 1800s. According to the articles, her father, William Andrews Clark, for whom Clark County, Nevada (the county in which Las Vegas is located) was named, lavishly doted upon his daughter and wife.
Huguette, an eccentric woman, now 104 years old, after the death of her sister in her teens, a short-lived failed marriage has long since abandoned her three mansions for a hospital bed, she hasn’t been seen or heard from in decades. This series of articles examine her life through the eyes of former employees and family friends, and poses the question, with billions of dollars at stake and memorabilia from her estate emerging on the market over the past several years, who is protecting Ms. Clark? Or is she even alive at all still?
