The Founder

Tara has long been a history aficionado. Her experience encapsulates many of the different facets of the trade. Her obsession with all things old, has taken her across the Atlantic to England to learn about Iron Age life, working with several prominent and archaeologists and professors in the region. Upon her return she participated in some excavations in her own backyard around Dakota County. She began documenting her experiences, which led to an opportunity to teach others about the extraordinary curiosities and amazing adventures one finds when learning about historical occurrences. It seemed like no matter how deep she delved into the labyrinth of discovering the past, she wanted to go deeper. Convicted to share her love of histories, and help others discover their past, she founded The Historium.

Tara is a volunteer curatorial assistant for the Dakota County Historical Society. She loves exploring antique shops, travel, art, photography, music and written word. But, most importantly, she loves helping people discover the joy she finds in history, and she can’t wait to meet you to explore yours.
